-------------------------------------------------

I was given hope again February 2010 and my flour and oil have not run dry since.

------------------------------

If I were a month, I’d be August.
If I were a day of the week, I’d be Sunday.
If I were a planet, I’d be Mercury.
If I were a sea animal, I’d be a Seahorse.
If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be a bookshelf.
If I were a gemstone, I’d be amethyst.
If I were a flower, I’d be a lilac bush.
If I were a kind of weather, I’d be a fog.
If I were a color, I’d be lavender.
If I were an emotion, I’d be hope.
If I were a fruit, I’d be a dusky grape.
If I were a sound, I’d be a black capped chickadee in song.
If I were an element, I’d be earth.
If I were a place, I’d be a cobblestone path.
If I were a taste, I’d taste like maple and oatmeal.
If I were a scent, I’d be an old book smell.
If I were an object, I’d be a tea pot.
If I were a body part, I’d be the fingers.
If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be suede boots.

Perhaps I'm young, ignorant or stupid. But I would like to make a mark. On the world, on a person, on a place. I believe I am living, And so I will prove it by creating things, speaking about things, and making an impact on people, learning and loving as I go.

We were talking of Dragons, Tolkien and I,

in a Berkshire bar.

The big workman who had sat silent and sucked

his pipe all the evening from his empty mug

glanced towards us with gleaming eye:

“I seen ‘em myself!”  he said fiercely.

Made filled croissants for dinner tonight…visit the baking blog for all the pictures, the action, and the recipe. ;)

This shall be my summer…

Actually not, because I’ll be travelling all over and taking a full set of classes and trying to (and hopefully succeeding!) at getting a second job and yeah…

*sigh*

Scuffled boots, arms full of peonies and lupines, eggs tucked under an arm, bag full of greens, damp concrete, guitar chords…Candice at the street market. Thursdays are the best.

Comicon makeup anyone?

Because I have to record all the things I can in a year, or else I forget which ones are the good recipes.

So far I’ve made 11 jars of cherry rhubarb jam. Not sure which is next on the list as far as what’s in season…Farmer’s market is this Thursday!

I take back every single awful thing I said yesterday, I really do!

For my jams set up overnight, my mother is baking molasses cookies, and I am going to make the dearest little banana bread loaves you’ve ever seen.

My sister went on a hike with her boyfriend and it was so romantic and adorable it made me happy to see them.

I had tea and classic British literature for breakfast.

I will draw all sorts of things with pencils and maybe sit outside while I do…and pet my cat.

All in all I am a fickle human being who can’t decide whether she is elated or despondent, and then posts about it so that everyone can see just how ridiculous she is.

Queen Victoria: Why did you do it? So stupid, why did you do it?
Prince Albert: I had two very good reasons. First, I am replaceable and you are not.
Queen Victoria: You are not replaceable to me!
Prince Albert: Second, you're the only wife I've got or ever will have. You are my whole existence, and I will love you until my very last breath.
